When should I watermark my videos?
That’s simple – watermark your videos when you don’t want them shared without you receiving the credit. Watermarks have two benefits – they’ll deter sinister content stealers from swiping your precious videos, plus they act as free advertising wherever your watermarked video is shared (as long as you use your logo or brand name).
How to add a watermark on video online
Step 1. Create a Clipchamp Create account or log in
Log into your existing Clipchamp account or sign up today for free.
Step 2. Create a new project
Click Create a video button on the left side bar. Choose an appropriate ratio for the style of video you are creating. We recommend using Widescreen 16:9 ratio if you are wanting to upload to YouTube, Vimeo or a different video sharing platform.
Step 3. Create your video
Step 4. Upload a logo to use as your video watermark
Click on the Logo button in the left side menu to upload your watermark image. Once it has uploaded it will appear in the editor.
Step 5. Position, resize and reduce the opacity of your watermark
Now it's time to customise your video watermark. Traditionally, the most effective way to display your watermark is large, centred, with a reduced opacity. Click the Transform button at the top of the editor to use the tools to make these changes.
Step 6. Export and share
Once you're done adding your watermark to your video and are ready to save your project, simply click the Export button in the top right corner of the editor. Choose your resolution, then click Continue.
