
Apple has released iOS 12.4.7 for some older model iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The software update includes security updates, and is specifically aimed at models that do not support iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5.
Specifically, iOS 12.4.7 supports iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPad Air 1st generation, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and iPod touch 6th generation.
How to Download & Update to iOS 12.4.7
Be sure to backup the iPhone or iPad to iCloud, iTunes, or to the Mac Finder before beginning any system software update.
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
- Go to “General”, and then choose “Software Update”
- Select to “Download & Install” when the iOS 12.4.7 shows as available
Like all software updates, iOS 12.4.7 will require rebooting to complete installation.
