DPI vs. PPI: Key Differences Explained and How to Edit for Optimal Quality

What is the difference between DPI and PPI

The higher these settings are, the better. For example, 300 DPI is enough for most cases, but a picture with a resolution of 100 DPI will look grainy and vague.

As for PPI vs DPI, in the modern world these two terms are almost completely interchangeable, as they are used in the context of digital materials. While historically DPI means the amount of ink dots per an inch, today it’s a synonym of pixels.

PPI is a key parameter for an image’s quality, so if it’s too small, a conversion may be needed.

Luckily, we have a perfect tool for it.

  1. Upload an image to convert

Open Clideo’s DPI vs PPI converter in a browser, as our tool works online and you don’t have to download or install it. Hit the “Choose file” button to pick up an image from your personal device.

You can also call the drop-down menu on the right side of the button and select a file from cloud storage accounts.

  2. Set the new DPI

Choose the DPI parameter from 72 to 600 or enter the custom one. When you are done, click “Continue” and let the tool do its job.
