Home Studio Essentials: Master Reflectors for Stunning Photos with Gavin Hoey

On this Adorama video, photographer Gavin Hoey  takes a look at at an essential tool in any photographers bag (or studio) – the reflector.

Reflectors are great lighting accessories – they are cheap, most of them can be folded and carried anywhere and they can help fill areas in the image that do not get enough light from your main light (natural or or otherwise). There are different types of reflectors – both large and small and different types of colors which affect the way light reflects to your subject (for example a black surface will reflect far less light than a silver surface).

We have looked at reflectors many times in the past including “How to Use a Dual Reflector Setup” with J. P. Morgan, “Using Soft Light v.s. Hard Light, Diffusers and Reflectors for Photography” with Tony Northrup and Luke Neumann’s “DIY reflector solution“.
