It’s that time of year again! Videographers, editors, motion graphics artists, and camera aficionados are all coming together in Vegas from April 7-12 for the NAB Trade Show to see what the next year in cameras and editing software will look like. This year promises to be huge, thanks to big-time releases from RED, Canon, Frame.io, and many others. Here are some of the most anticipated events, speaking engagements, and booths to check out at this year’s show.
If you’re interested in cameras, lighting, editing software, audio recording, or anything motion picture-related, Central Hall is where you’ll want to be. This year, Shutterstock will be at C3333, so make sure to stop by. We’ll be talking all about the future of royalty-free footage and music — as well as holding a drawing for a DJI Mavic Air!
The South Lower Hall is for all things post-production. Classes and speaking engagements here will cover all your favorite NLEs, as well as crash courses for beginners on After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere Pro. Here’s the full schedule of the essential classes.
The South Upper Hall is all about video distribution. If you’re in the business of producing, distributing, or creating content, this is an excellent spot to catch up on the latest trends. There will also be information and panels on analytics, mobile distribution, and encoding.
The North Hall is home to the main stage, as well as radio and media management sessions. There are two main events to look out for. The first is From Podcast to Broadcast, an extensive conversation with Zach Braff and ABC execs about the transition from audio entertainment to video. The second is Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Join The Rebellion for a look at the visual effects supervision behind the film.
