We recently had the opportunity to explore the latest addition to Zeiss’s premium line—the Otus 55mm f/1.4 lens. With 12 elements in 10 groups and a price tag of $4,000, the optics are engineered for exceptional sharpness, contrast, and bokeh.
During this year’s Photoplus Tradeshow, we spoke with Zeiss’s own specialist Richard Schleuning, who confirmed that the glass construction follows the same high‑end principles found in other Otus models. Although the lens has yet to undergo our lab’s full testing, Richard indicated that the optical performance will likely match the brand’s top‑tier offerings.
