TikTok Stories Explained: What They Are and How to Use Them Effectively

Like other social media apps like Instagram, TikTok has jumped on the Stories bandwagon, which will allow users to share daily highlights. In this post, we’ll explain the meaning of TikTok Stories and how it works.

What Are TikTok Stories?

In August 2021, TikTok has started the test of TikTok Stories with some participants, a new way to connect with the community. This feature will allow users to post videos and videos that will be automatically deleted after 24 hours. That’s similar to Stories on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc.

In other words, TikTok Stories are the videos or photos taken with the built-in camera and they will disappear after 24 hours.

From March 2022, TikTok begins expanding the pilot of its Stories feature and it will be coming to more accounts.

TikTok Stories appear on the user’s profile page and the For You page like normal videos on TikTok. You can view other users’ Stories by clicking their profile page.

When you post your story on TikTok, you can see how many accounts viewed your story, but you can’t know the exact account. Also, you can like a TikTok story and publicly comment on it.

How to Use TikTok Stories?

How to Get TikTok Stories? How to post stories on TikTok?

Step 1. Open your TikTok app, and click the plus button at the bottom to open the Camera.

Tap the blue circle to open the TikTok’s camera.

Step 2. Select the Quick at the bottom.

Step 3. You can click the Record button or hold it down to take a picture or video with the camera tools. Also, you can click the Upload to add a photo or video from your device.

Step 4. Then, edit the video or picture as you like. You can do a voiceover, apply filters and effects, add music, add text and stickers, and more.

Step 5. When your edits are done, click the Post to Story and choose Post Now to post your story.

And you can click the Next and then click the Post to post it as a regular TikTok.

Why Don't I Have TikTok Stories Feature?

Currently, not all TikTok users can access the Stories feature yet. If you don’t get this feature, just wait. As the pilot test expands, you might have access to TikTok Stories feature very soon.

And a user who doesn’t have the Stories feature can’t view the stories uploaded by the users with this feature.
