Achieve Stunning Skin Tones in Adobe Premiere Pro: Expert Tutorial

Skin tones are a hot topic in Lightroom and Photoshop, but there are fewer resources for videographers, who need to get them correct just as much. Here's how you can get beautiful skin tones in Adobe Premiere Pro, every time.

It's startling just how much skin tones affect photographs and videos. A technically perfect image can have so much of its impact stripped if the tones of the subject's skin is either too magenta, or too green. The more you become aware of the problem, the bigger the problem becomes and soon you can't look at an image without checking what the skin looks like.

With photographs, Photoshop and Lightroom have a wealth of tutorials, both written and in video format. There are also lots of action sets and presets to achieve better skin tones very quickly. However, with videography it's of course slightly more difficult. For one, you can't as easily do localized color adjustments to the skin as you can in still images. So in essence, the tones are achieved by color grading of sorts. In this video by Cody Blue, we're shown a comprehensive and highly effective way of achieving those beautiful skin tones we all want, using only Adobe Premiere Pro.
