Ok, so all the video editors are wiping their tears from laughing so hard. By it's very nature, filmmaking is a collaborative process. Unlike photography, it's pretty difficult to shoot something by yourself without the help of a team. Every now and then, you end up including the camera operators who drop focus, or that token weird PA that no one remembers hiring. However, there is something so satisfying cleaning up the mess that is editing. Sitting in front of a computer for hours and hours, scrubbing through the same three minutes of footage to get that cut just perfectly lined up with the sound design; it's terrible for your eyes, but if you're an editor, it's an addictive process. You really do lose track of time, but then sometimes you realize only twelve minutes have past.
I can't tell you how many times Premiere has crashed on me after long days in the office, which is why I recommend a seven minute autosave.
