Master Essential Lighting Techniques for Stunning Photos and Videos

On this  video, Ryan Connolly from Film Riot takes a look at some of the very basic lighting techniques used in film (and video) world. Connolly covers (very briefly) some of the most common lighting techniques including If you are looking for a very dark and moody look – Connolly also discusses (in the second part of the video) using only reflective light (based on natural light originally), this can be O.K. for very specific scenes with a very specific cinematic look. As Connolly mentions one of the best ways to get ideas on actually lighting your scenes is to watch different scenes from films and try and observe how the light effects the actors.
