Apple has released the third developer beta versions of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13.
While no new corresponding public beta versions are available yet, Apple often releases the same developer beta build as a public beta version labeled a release behind, for example iOS 13 dev beta 3 might be iOS 13 public beta 2.
Additionally, Apple released MacOS Catalina 10.15 beta 3 to Mac users enrolled in the developer beta testing program.
Users who are currently enrolled to participate in the iOS 13 developer beta testing program and/or the iPadOS 13 developer beta testing programs will find the latest beta releases, labeled as “iOS 13 Developer beta 3” and “iPadOS 13 Developer beta 3” respectively, available to download now through the “Software Update” section of the Settings app.
While anyone can technically install the developer betas, a better approach for the adventurous is use the public beta builds instead. Users who have sufficiently advanced technical competency can install iOS 13 public beta on iPhone or iPod touch and install iPadOS 13 public beta on iPad if interested.
iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 include a variety of new features, including an all new Dark Mode appearance theme option, enhancements to built-in apps like Photos, Reminders, Notes, new Memoji and Animoji features, performance enhancements for faster app launches, and much more. Additionally, iPadOS 13 includes all of the features of iOS 13 plus some iPad specific features including new multitasking functionality and gestures, and a revised Home Screen that allows iPad users to pin the Today widget section to their Home Screen.
Apple has said that final versions of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 will be released in the fall to the general public.
Separately, Apple has released MacOS Catalina 10.15 beta 3, along with beta updates to tvOS 13 and watchOS 6.
