Apple Releases iOS 9.3 Beta 6, OS X 10.11.4 Beta 6, tvOS 9.2 Beta 6 & watchOS 2.2 Beta 6 for Testers

Apple Releases iOS 9.3 Beta 6, OS X 10.11.4 Beta 6, tvOS 9.2 Beta 6 & watchOS 2.2 Beta 6 for Testers

Apple has released a bevy of beta software updates for users participating in the public beta and developer beta testing programs, including iOS 9.3 beta 6, OS X 10.11.4 beta 6, watchOS 2.2 beta 6, and tvOS 9.2 beta 6. Each new build continues to emphasize bug fixes and refinements to the beta releases as the final version approaches.

The new beta software update is available now through the Over the Air update mechanism on individual devices that are running a prior beta release. In iOS and tvOS, going to the Settings app and to Software Update will reveal the 6th beta of each respective operating system. In OS X, going to the Mac App Store Updates tab will reveal the latest beta build of OS X El Capitan 10.11.4. WatchOS betas are updated through the paired iPhone Watch app.

iOS 9.3 includes password protected Notes in the Notes application, wi-fi calling for Verizon users, and a Night Shift mode which changes the color hue of the screen as the evening approaches to be softer on the eyes. Multi-user support for iPad is available to individuals in the educational environment as well, but that highly desired feature is not (yet) available beyond that.

OS X 10.11.4 includes support for password protected Notes, Live Photos in the Messages app, and other minor refinements.

tvOS 9.2 includes Bluetooth keyboard support, dictation support in search fields, and some other feature enhancements.

WatchOS 2.2 includes performance enhancements, improvements to the Maps app, and some other minor changes.

Though no timeline is known for when the final versions of these software updates will be made available to the general public, it has long been assumed that Apple would release the final versions on the same day as a presumed March event where an updated 4″ iPhone and revamped iPad will be released.
