Apple Releases OS X 10.11.4 Beta 3, iOS 9.3 Beta 3, watchOS 2.2 Beta 3, and tvOS 9.2 Beta 3

Apple Releases OS X 10.11.4 Beta 3, iOS 9.3 Beta 3, watchOS 2.2 Beta 3, and tvOS 9.2 Beta 3

Apple has released an array of new beta operating system builds, including the third beta versions of OS X 10.11.4 beta, iOS 9.3 beta, WatchOS 2.2 beta, and tvOS 9.2 beta 3. Each release includes bug fixes and feature enhancements for their respective hardware, along with a few new features.

Users who are participating in the beta testing programs can find the updates available now through the Mac App Store for OS X 10.11.4, and through the Software Update mechanisms on iOS, WatchOS, and tvOS. The beta builds are available to developer users and public beta users, with developers getting the releases earlier and public beta builds arriving a bit later which is typical with Apple’s beta programs.

OS X 10.11.4 beta 3 includes password protected notes, but otherwise likely focuses primarily on bug fixes and under the hood improvements. The update also includes compatibility for the password protected notes feature syncing to iOS 9.3 devices, though OS X 10.11.3 appears to work fine without that notes ability.

iOS 9.3 beta 3 includes support for a flux-like feature which changes a devices screen color depending on the time of day, password protected notes, and is said to include wi-fi calling support for Verizon iPhone users.

WatchOS 2.2 beta 3 includes support for pairing multiple Apple Watch’s to a single iPhone, which should be helpful for users who have multiple Apple Watch models.

tvOS 9.2 beta 3 includes support for dictation via the Siri Remote, and wireless keyboards for easier text entry.

While no public release timeline is known for the final versions of each of these software updates, it is assumed the final builds will be available next month when Apple is rumored to release some updated hardware, like a revised 4″ iPhone, a new iPad, and some updates to Apple Watch, on March 15.
