The highly-anticipated Leica Q2 camera has arrived. The Q2 is a 28mm fixed-lens full-frame camera built around a 47.3 megapixel sensor with a similar look and feel as Leica’s M rangefinder cameras. Although the Q2 looks almost identical to the Q, there are some substantial upgrades inside.

The most substantial upgrades here are on the tech inside. The increased 47.3 megapixel sensor allows the ISO range to drop down to ISO 50. The new dust and moisture resistant make the camera more versatile, regardless of weather conditions. The interface on the back of the camera has been simplified. And according to Leica the camera’s battery is now rated at 370 shots per charge. We had a chance to check the Q2 in person last night during a launch event in New York City.

The ergonomics on this camera were great. The camera is compact and comfortable and the simplified buttons and menus were easy to navigate. We’re hoping to get some more substantial shooting time with this camera very soon.
