On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to start working with RAW images in Camera Raw. This video is intended for both beginners who never used Camera Raw but has also a few techniques which are maybe a little bit more advanced.
Camera Raw which is part of Photoshop is a very useful tool for working with Raw files. Shooting in RAW brings with it lots of advantages, more particularly it allows you to get a much wider dynamic range. On this video
Nace goes over some of the basic tools you have in camera Raw – if you worked with Lightroom for example in the past you are already probably aware of most or even all of these. In camera Rawe you can do white balance, change things such as exposure, color temperature, increase or decrease shadows, contrast, whites, blacks, vibrance and much more. You can also crop and even do local changes in different ways. Camera Raw also gives you the option to fix lens issues automatically (for lenses in Adobe’s database at least and much more.
The more advanced part of this tutorial has to do with combining several camera Raw edits to create a better image (in this case locally increase the dynamic range – you can also do this by selecting a specific area using the adjustment brush for example).
