Start with low values and gradually increase until you achieve the desired effect. Too much smoothing can make the skin look plastic. Use the "Shine Removal" to reduce glare.
* Face Lighting: Adds subtle fill light to illuminate the face. Use cautiously.
* Slim Face 2.0 (Luminar Neo): Subtly reshape the face, making it appear slimmer. Use very sparingly.
* Eyes AI:
* Eye Whitening: Brightens the whites of the eyes. Use carefully to avoid an unnatural look.
* Eye Enhancement: Sharpens and defines the eyes.
* Dark Circles Removal: Reduces the appearance of under-eye circles.
* Iris Flare: Adds a subtle, realistic catchlight to the eyes.
* Eye Enlargement: Makes the eyes slightly larger. Use sparingly.
* Mouth AI:
* Lip Saturation: Enhances the color of the lips.
* Lip Redness: Adjusts the redness of the lips.
* Lip Darkening: Deepens the color of the lips.
* Teeth Whitening: Brightens the teeth. Use carefully to avoid an unnatural, "glow-in-the-dark" effect.
* Body AI (Luminar Neo):
* Slim Body: Subtle body reshaping. Use very carefully and moderately, as it's easy to make the subject look distorted.
* Erase Tool (For Blemishes): If Skin AI doesn't remove all blemishes, use the Erase tool (under the "Edit" tab) to manually remove them.
* How to use Erase:
1. Select the Erase Tool: Click on the Erase tool icon.
2. Adjust Brush Size: Resize the brush using the bracket keys ([ and ]) to slightly larger than the blemish you want to remove.
3. Paint over Blemishes: Click and drag over the blemish. Luminar will intelligently fill the area with surrounding pixels.
4. Refine (if needed): If the initial result isn't perfect, undo and try again, or adjust the "Heal" and "Clone" modes.
IV. Local Adjustments (Optional but Recommended):
* Use the "Local Masking" tools (Masking & Selection in Luminar Neo, Adjustment Layers in Luminar AI). This allows for precise adjustments to specific areas of the image.
* Dodge & Burn: Subtly lighten highlights and darken shadows to enhance facial structure and add depth. Use the "Lighten" and "Darken" modes of the Paint mask.
* Eye Enhancement: Create a new adjustment layer, use the "Radial Mask" or "Paint Mask" to select the eyes, and increase sharpness or contrast.
* Hair Enhancement: Create a new adjustment layer, select the hair, and add some sharpness or contrast.
* Lip Enhancement: Create a new adjustment layer, select the lips, and increase saturation or brightness.
* Background Blur: Create a new adjustment layer, invert the mask to select the background, and add blur to create separation between the subject and the background.
V. Color Grading (Optional):
* Color Balance or Color Harmony (Toning): Adjust the overall color tone of the image. Experiment with different color palettes.
* HSL (Hue, Saturation, Luminance): Finely tune individual colors in the image.
VI. Sharpening and Noise Reduction (Final Touches):
* Details: Apply a final sharpening to bring out fine details. Use sparingly to avoid creating artifacts.
* Noise Reduction (If Needed): If the image is noisy, use the Noise Reduction tool to reduce grain.
VII. Export:
* File > Export: Choose your desired file format (JPEG, TIFF, etc.), quality, and dimensions. For web use, JPEG is generally preferred. For printing, TIFF is often a better choice.
