Monica Royal can take seemingly ordinary household things like a wire, a piece of plastic and even broken glass and make them into amazing work of photography art.
This short video is worth watching if only just to see how creative you can be with simple items. Royal is an example of why you do not necessarily need an expensive gear and a huge studio to create amazing works of art – all you need is a camera, a macro lens lots of time and some creative thinking (decent lighting can also help – this video was meant to promote the Westcott-Flex-LED which we have looked at quite a few times in the past).
Our suggestion is simple – pick an object or objects that you want to shoot learn them either by looking at them directly or with the macro lens – try and find interesting angles or maybe combinations of objects/background. Finally decide what type of lighting you want. Try and keep things clean – don’t fill the image with too much of your object – think about composition and colors and take many shorts (use a tripod and a shutter release to make sure your image is super sharp).
