On this extensive video by photographer Anthony Morganti we take a look at using the tone curve feature in Adobe Lightroom.
Morganti in this video start with an overview of the tone curve and its use in the develop module. We start with a landscape image and we start by looking at 2 different tone curve (the point curve and the region curve – in the bottom corner). The point curve is more powerful but also less forgiving than the region curve.
We start with the region curve. What you need to understand the bottom is the tone axis which is divided into 4 parts. The right to left part moves from the darks to the highlights and the Y axis shows the tone of the pixels (darker on the bottom and brighter on the top).
