On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to create a panorama using the new panorama feature of the recently released Lightroom CC.
Panoramas are nothing new (we looked at creating panoramas in the past) and some cameras and smartphones even let you create them without any extra software. However most DSLRs currently do not allow for this so you will need to use some sort of software for that. Luckily, the new Lightroom CC/6 allows for that – import your images for the panorama into Lightroom CC, shift click on all the images you want to include and right click and choose photo marge.
This will open a screen with some options. Nace chooses auto and auto crop which will crop the extra sides (you can also do this manually if you like). From now on the output will be created in a speed which depends on how big are your files and how fast your computer is. The result is a DNG file which is basically a RAW file which lets you a lot of editing capabilities (just like the original RAW files) – how fun is this?
