MARY
(to herself)
This is so boring. There's nothing on.
[She flips through the channels, but nothing catches her interest.]
MARY
(continued)
Ugh, I wish there was something new to watch.
[Suddenly, the screen goes black. A moment later, a new image appears: a spaceship landing in a field.]
MARY
(surprised)
What is this?
[She watches as the spaceship door opens and a group of aliens emerge. They look friendly and curious.]
ALIEN 1
(to the camera)
We come in peace.
[Mary is captivated. She has never seen anything like this before.]
MARY
(to herself)
This is amazing.
[She continues to watch as the aliens explore Earth and meet the humans. The story is exciting and full of adventure. Mary is hooked.]
[The next day, Mary is at school, talking to her friends.]
MARY
(excitedly)
Did you see the new show last night? It was so good!
FRIEND 1
(curious)
What show?
MARY
The one with the aliens. It's called "The Pilot."
FRIEND 2
(interested)
That sounds cool. I'll have to check it out.
[Mary smiles. She is glad that she found a new show to watch. She knows that she will be hooked for a long time.]
