Recreating an Iconic 'Collateral' Scene with Fujifilm X-H1: Pro Filming Guide

Fujifilm's brand new X-H1 mirrorless camera is the company's first serious attempt at making a body that is capable as both a stills and video camera. It has been causing quite a stir in the photography community recently. Just who is it for? What is it capable of? Would it be a good addition to your kit? This video will show you what it can accomplish.

Time will tell if the camera will be a commercial success or not and exactly what it gets used for. Just before its release, Chris Niccolls and Jordan Drake of The Camera Store TV were given the camera for testing and took the opportunity to create a film set in order to test it in a real-world environment. They set out to recreate a scene from the film "Collateral." Check out the results in the video above.

TCSTV did a great job of breaking down the Fujifilm X-H1, letting us know what worked and didn't, and then finally discussing the post-processing of the footage and how the colorist felt about working with it. There are plenty of details in this video that should answer a lot of your questions about how the camera performs for video that I could not answer in my stills-focused review here on Fstoppers. So, after watching the video, what do you think? Where has Fuji improved? If the camera is not for you, what would need to be added in terms of video capabilities to make you consider it?
