Captivating Short Film: 'You're My Music in This Silence' Crafted with Cinemagraphs

Eric Flores Garnelo has made a short film using mainly cinemagraphs to create the scenes. The audio is well produced, and the production of the scenes are done with craftsmanship. Watching each of these shots with only one item moving opens up the capacity to contemplate. Being a photographer, the first phase was to think how he did it and what it must have taken to actually get the shot. Secondly, it takes you deeper, into the human condition and the small moments during the day that can seem insignificant, but holds so much beauty if we just opened our eyes.

To do this project, Eric used a Canon 5D Mark III and Magic Lantern Installed. The lens is a Zenit Helios 58 f2 44m-4. He shot it all in raw dng sequences and color corrected in DaVinci Resolve. The post-production was done using After Effects, and the total video edited in Final Cut X. Another thing to know is that Eric is very talented and composed the music too.

This creative process, to go out and make these shots come to life must've taken a great amount of time. However, it surely pays off when you know what you want to do with it, and have the story flow planned ahead of the actual shoot.
