How to Create Stunning Fantasy Portraits with Simple Elements: Photography Tutorial

In this video, photographer Jay P. Morgan from the Slanted Lens takes us behind the scences of an interesting photoshoot showing a fantasy portrait with some relatively simple elements.

Sometimes you don’t need fancy sets and decorations – a few things from around the home with some careful placing and some carefully placed lighting can make a photo (as well as a fan which can add to the feeling of movement).

Morgan used 3 main elements: 1) clumps of grass in the foreground, 2) a tree branch from my backyard, and 3) a gray and gloomy backdrop. Morgan and his team created a small structure for the model to lean on that will give the impression that she is leaning into the wind. A couple large fans and some handfuls of leaves complete the set.
