DJI Zenmuse X7: Revolutionary Super35 6K Aerial Camera with 4 Prime Lenses for Inspire 2

DJI upgrades the Inspire 2 with an incredible new 6K camera. Updates for other DJI products are on the way.

The DJI Zenmuse X7 is the next step in the evolution of drones. Designed for the Inspire 2, the X7 is the first Super35 camera designed for aerial use. It can capture 6K CinemaDNG RAW footage up to 30fps and 5.2K ProRes up to 30fps. It can also capture 4K PreRes, 3.9K CinemaDNG RAW, and 2.7K ProRes footage up to 60fps.

 

The Zenmuse X7 has 14 stops of dynamic range and accommodates interchangeable lenses. With the new DL-mount, you can use a variety of DJI lenses. The company is initially launching with a 16mm, 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm lenses with a maximum aperture of f2.8.

With an ISO range of 100-25,600, this camera will work in a variety of low-light situations. There is also an EI mode to help match the look of other industry-standard cinema cameras. The lenses, like the company’s drones, feature carbon fiber bodies to keep them lightweight and durable.

For still photographers, the X7 captures RAW and JPEG images with 24 megapixels. To show off the footage capture on the Zenmuse X7, DJI put together this short spot.
