Rumors suggest Panasonic may unveil the Lumix GH5s, a sister camera to their already-popular micro four thirds camera. Here’s what we know.
As we get closer to the major electronics and photography trade shows in January and February, several rumors are surfacing that Panasonic is going to announce a new version of their flagship GH5 mirrorless camera.
According to Photo Rumors, the GH5s is supposedly a more video-focused camera, tailored to meet the needs of the many videographers already using Panasonic’s mirrorless cameras.
Per the Photo Rumors report, we should see state of the art video functions, improved low light performance and a higher launch price compared to the GH5.

This is a quick turnaround for a new GH5, as the last model debuted just one year ago. That camera just received a firmware update in October.
You can read more about the GH5 V2.0 firmware update here. The GH5 carries an MSRP of $1,999 USD, so expect the GH5s to cost a little bit more. We could even see a very slight price drop on the GH5, but it’s still too early to tell.
