On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to add fog and light to an image using Photoshop.
On this video (which uses the same image Nace used in the previous video he did which we also covered here) we look at adding a fog to the image – this is actually super simple as Nace already created the brush for us and you can download it for free – from here (how nice of him!).
It is very easy to use – download the file and open the brush file and it will automatically add to your brushes – just pick it up – it will be the last brush on your list). Use relatively low flow and go over the area until you have enough “fog”. You can also add some Gaussian blur (we always recommend that you do it on a new layer of course). You can do the fog in different colors – dark in the corners like Nice demonstrated is really nice.
You can use a layer mask to remove the fig selectively from your subject although in many situations having fog is actually pretty cool.
In the second part of the video Nace uses the same brush to create interesting light streaks and use radial blur to get nice beams of light.
