This video tutorial by portrait photographer Nathaniel Dodson (from the website tutvid) takes a look at using the liquify tool in Photoshop CC.
Liquify is a very powerful tool in Photoshop, however as with all “great power” comes great responsibility (no we can’t claim this saying as our own…), so use it in moderation.
Dodson shows in the video how to increase the size of the eyes and moth (you can of course do other things such as make a subject look thinner or thicker and change proportions in general (this is exactly the tool that a lot of people think about when they thinking about models and Photoshop).
The first step will be to convert your image to a smart object and than go to filter>liquify. A dialog box opens – when you press shift your cancel will change to reset (just something that is good to know).
On the left side you have several tools including smudge, blow tools, masking tools and more (which are the ones that Dodson demonstrates). To increase the eyes and the moth just click one time on them with a brush that is just a little larger than the eye (too much will look comical). There is much more in this video like changing the figure of a model with the liquify tool and how to make sure areas will not be compromised by the liquify tool.
