How many movies did you watch that came out this year? After laying your eyes on this captivating reel, you just might want to make a list of films to check out when they become available for home viewing.
It's fun to try and pick out which films you've seen, or at least recognize from their trailers, but what's more interesting are the unique clips from movies that you haven't actually seen yet. I don't know about you, but it makes me want to throw some popcorn into my science oven and watch some of these films over the holidays.
These kinds of edits I find interesting from a creative standpoint as well, for a few reasons. First, the clips shown are vastly different, yet all seem to have something that makes them stand out, whether it is composition, light, moment (action), color, or some other quality. It would be a great inspiration for when you might be stuck in a creative rut. Beyond that, there are also a number of creative edits in this mashup that go by pretty fast, but a trained eye can catch them. Match cuts are everywhere, and help to bring together scenes from different films. Lastly, color trends are easy to spot across the genres, which are separated by different music selections.
The montage was created by YouTube user Sleepy Skunk. For a full list of the films used, in order, check out this link.
