Sony’s latest release features a gigantic 61mp sensor and an improved viewfinder. Here’s what we know about the A7R IV so far.
Remember the A7R III? The camera that boasted an impressive 42.4-megapixel sensor? Well Sony has taken the A7R lineup and reached for the stratosphere with their latest announcement. The new A7R IV has many features (the sensor and the 15 stops of dynamic range are one major feat) that surpass some of the recent releases from companies like Canon and Nikon. The camera is solid overall and comes with many features that will drain a lot of wallets.

So what can we expect from this mirrorless camera? The A7R IV will have 5 axis in-body stabilization, as well as a 5.76-million-dot viewfinder with 1.6 higher resolution than the A7R III. For photographers, the camera has burst shooting at 10 fps as well as an impressive 32,000 ISO capability.
Here’s a little bit about the viewfinder:
For video, expect 4K at 30p with S-Log2/3 capability and apparently sports Eye AF in movie mode and touch tracking, allowing you to play with and rack focus by touching the display. Sony has also announced their new Multi Interface Shoe that allows digital connection with their new ECM-B1M shotgun mic as well as their XLR-K3M XLR adapter kit (which basically just improves customizability and accessibility for in-camera audio recording).
The camera starts at $3,500 as of now and looks to be available sometime in September.
