Schneider‑Kreunch, a German lens manufacturer with a legacy that predates the digital era, is expanding into the DSLR market with three high‑performance optics. The lineup will include a 35 mm f/1.6 Xenon, a 50 mm f/1.4 Xenon, and an 85 mm f/2.4 Macro Symmar.

Each lens will be available in Canon and Nikon mounts and will feature an electronic interface that allows photographers to monitor focus status directly from the camera’s display. Nikon variants will also offer a fully automated, mechanical iris system.

The company has indicated that the 35 mm and 50 mm lenses will share a front element diameter of 85.5 mm, while the macro will boast a 92.8 mm front element, underscoring the substantial build quality of the new lenses.

Although release dates and pricing remain undisclosed, marketing materials suggest these lenses will command premium pricing, consistent with their professional‑grade performance.

With a growing trend toward premium manual‑focus DSLR optics, Schneider‑Kreunch’s new offerings represent a significant addition to the market, combining exceptional optical design with advanced electronic integration.
