Mastering Multiple Layer Masks in Photoshop: Add Two or More Masks to a Single Layer

In this video tutorial photographer Nathaniel Dodson (from the website tutvid) shares a cool trick on how you can add two or more masks on the same layer in Adobe Photoshop.

Sometimes when you are doing composite images and you have a mask you might want to add another one layer, this can be done for a bunch of reasons, Dodson, for example, demonstrates in the video doing a second separate pass of fixing a model’s hair but it can be very useful for adding different textures to text (one mask for each texture).

Doing this is super simple – just group the layer with the first mask (from the menu go to Layer>group layer) and add another mask to the group and that is it. Super simple.

Now since this one was so quick and easy here is a bonus video from Dodson fast and easy way to erase background in Photoshop.
