Seamlessly Blend 3 Exposures in Photoshop: Pro Landscape Workflow

On this video, photographer Jimmy McIntyre looks at two ways to blend different exposures in Photoshop to create a perfect and clean final image.

Especially in landscape and architectural photos being able to blend exposures can be extremely helpful. You will usually need a tripod and to set your camera to shoot one over and one under the correct exposure and than you will need to go back to your editing software to make the magic happen.

McIntyre starts in camera RAW and opens all three images and after fixing them a bit opens then as objects  by selecting all 3 and instead of click open images and holds down the shift and choosing open objects.

Now you have all three images and McIntyre suggest that you drag and with the shift key drop them one on top of the other (in the center). You start with the darker exposure on top create a mask and play with the shadows as McIntyre demonstrates (it is a little bit faster with the Raya Pro but you can definitely do this with just Photoshop).

You can also do this  in Raya Pro which is a Photoshop add-on that McIntyre  developed that can do many things and help you save time on Photoshop which you can check on our previous articles – here. The Raya Pro cost between $30 and $90 depending on the exact version and you can find them here.
