In today’s world it is hard to find exceptional locations for shooting which have not been explored (and in some cases “covered to death”) that is an hour or two away from many major population center in the heart of Europe. Landscape photographer Matty Graham found such a spot in the Faroe Islands and he shares his experience and some of his breathtaking photos from this place with us.
The Faroe Islands (aka the Faeroes), is an archipelago between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic, about 320 kilometres (or 200 miles) northwest of Scotland. These small Islands are considered autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark and have a population of roughly 50,000 people.
Today it is easier to travel to the Faroe Islands and you can drive in the islands by car (at least to some of the locations although to get to the really beautiful places, hiking will be your best bet. Looking at some of the images and video bits the Faroe Islands have some really unique virgin landscapes but the place is pretty cold for most of the year so you will need to come prepared.
