JVC MR-HD200U: Solid-State Recording Upgrade for HD200 Series Camcorders

JVC MR-HD200U: Solid-State Recording Upgrade for HD200 Series Camcorders

The JVC MR-HD200U moves JVC’s HD200 camcorder series into the solid state recording world with dual functionality. The JVC MR-HD200U is equipped with both a hard drive and a SDHC memory card slot for recording .m2t or .mov video files. The .m2t file format keeps the video in its native format, while the .mov files are ready-to-edit in Final Cut Pro. The MR-HD200U connects to the back of the GY-HD200 series camcorders extending off the end. The hard drive unit is capable of storing 10 hours of content and a 16 GB SDHC card is capable of storing 1.2 hours of 1080i and 1.6 hours of 720p video.

The JVC MR-HD200U is expected to be available in the 4th quarter of 2008. The price is to be determined.
