Why 1080p Beats 4K for Most Projects: Choosing the Canon C100 with Ryan E. Walters

In this video, I discuss why I chose the Canon C100 over other 4K cameras on the market. Here are the main points I covered:

* Full HD is still king for now, especially for web/streaming distribution: While 4K is starting to become more popular for filmmaking, full HD is still the standard for web and streaming distribution, and the vast majority of viewers still watch videos on devices that don't support 4K.

* 4K requires a more powerful (and expensive) editing setup: Editing 4K footage requires a powerful computer with a fast processor, GPU, and lots of RAM. This can add thousands of dollars to the cost of your filmmaking setup.

* 4K footage takes up more storage space: 4K footage takes up significantly more storage space than full HD footage. If you're shooting on a limited budget, this could be a major concern.

* Full HD is better for slow motion: When shooting slow motion, 1080p provides a smoother, more cinematic look. This is because 1080p footage can be slowed down to a greater degree without sacrificing image quality.

* The Canon C100 is a great all-around camera for filmmakers on a budget: When I was choosing a camera for my own filmmaking needs, I decided that the C100 was the best choice for me. Here's why:

>* It shoots full HD footage at up to 60 frames per second, making it capable of creating beautiful slow motion shots.

>* It has a built-in neutral density filter, which allows me to control the amount of light that enters the lens.

>* It has a Log mode that gives me more control over the color and contrast of my footage.

>* It can be customized with a variety of accessories, such as external microphones, lenses, and a shoulder rig.

If you're a filmmaker on a budget who is looking for a versatile, compact, and powerful camera, the Canon C100 is a great option.
