Welcome to the Filmmakers Podcast, where we talk to filmmakers about their craft. I'm your host, [host's name].

Today, we're talking to the filmmakers behind the horror anthology "Scare Package."

[Host] So, tell us about "Scare Package." What's it all about?

[Filmmaker 1] "Scare Package" is an anthology horror film that follows a group of horror movie fans who find themselves trapped in a video store. As they try to find a way out, they're confronted by a series of horror movie-themed challenges.

[Filmmaker 2] We wanted to create a film that was both fun and scary, and we thought that an anthology format would be the perfect way to do that. We could explore different sub-genres of horror, and we could tell a variety of stories.

[Host] What were some of the challenges of creating a cohesive story with multiple segments?

[Filmmaker 1] One of the biggest challenges was making sure that each segment had its own identity, but that they all still fit together as a whole. We didn't want the film to feel disjointed, so we spent a lot of time developing the overall story arc and making sure that each segment contributed to that arc.

[Filmmaker 2] We also wanted to make sure that the segments were all different in terms of tone and style. We didn't want the film to feel repetitive, so we experimented with different types of horror, from slasher films to psychological thrillers.

[Host] How did you manage to keep the audience guessing until the very end?

[Filmmaker 1] We wanted to avoid the typical horror movie tropes, so we tried to come up with unexpected twists and turns. We also didn't want to give away too much in the trailer, so we kept a lot of the surprises under wraps.

[Filmmaker 2] We also had a lot of fun with the meta-horror elements of the film. We played with the audience's expectations, and we made them question what was real and what was not.

[Host] What are some of your influences for "Scare Package"?

[Filmmaker 1] We were influenced by a wide range of horror films, from classic horror films to modern horror films. We were also inspired by horror literature, and by our own personal experiences with horror.

[Filmmaker 2] We wanted to create a film that was both a tribute to the horror genre and a subversion of it. We wanted to scare the audience, but we also wanted to make them laugh.

[Host] Well, it sounds like you've succeeded! "Scare Package" is a really fun and scary film. Thanks for talking to us about it.

[Filmmakers] Thank you for having us!
