Don’t worry Sony and Canon users, you’ll be getting your chance soon enough. But, for right now, it’s only the Nikon folks that can take advantage of Tamron’s latest 70-300mm DI VC USD ($449). As its alphabet- soup-style name would suggest, this super-tele-zoom comes packing quite a few of Tamron’s performance-oriented features, including their Vibration Compensation system (VC), which promises up to four extra stops when hand-holding. Other features include full-time manual focus, Extra Low Dispersion (XLD) glass elements to improve optical performance and Tamron’s first foray into Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) auto-focus mechanism.
