Shooting an Interview
Filming an interview seems like an easy to do job. You place the camera on a tripod and ask the interviewee a coupe of questions. Most interviews you see online are shot this way.
But if you want to make a difference or your interview is part of a documentary, we need to start treating our interviews as something unique. Your cinematography is one of those things.
Cinematography
An interview tells a story, so it’s important to enhance that story with the cinematography. We can create a warm lighting, lots of contrast or in the opposite a clean white look. Your background and lighting is going to contribute a lot.
In almost every case you want to create more depth. And like explained thoroughly in our lighting course for beginners, this is one of the most important things a cinematographer does.
