3. Develop the character's arc.
The character arc is the journey that the character takes over the course of the story. It's important to have a clear idea of the character's arc before you start writing, so that you can make sure that the character's actions and decisions are consistent with their overall journey.
4. Give the character a voice.
The character's voice is the way they express themselves. It's important to develop a strong and distinctive voice for each of your characters, so that readers can easily tell them apart.
5. Make the character relatable.
Readers should be able to relate to your characters on some level. This doesn't mean that your characters have to be perfect. In fact, it's often the flaws in a character that make them the most interesting. But readers should be able to understand the character's motivations and empathize with their struggles.
6. Revise and refine.
Creating a character is an ongoing process. As you write, you may need to revise and refine your character's backstory, personality, and motivations. This is perfectly normal. The important thing is to keep working on your character until you're satisfied that they're fully developed and believable.
